About Artist: Vivian Fransee
Vivian Fransee is an artist who paints with a passion. Time loses its essence when she is at her easel only to recapture it again on canvas with an image from a moment in time frozen on canvas.
Essential to the creation of her art she endeavors to capture color, detail and form that engage and inform the viewer. She favors the dynamics of triadic color schemes. She researches her subject as if she is not acquainted with its function or behavior to assure technical correctness. Oil on canvas, either cotton or linen, is her media of choice.
Vivan successfully began her career as a fine art artist by undertaking commissions. Once her artistic proficiency was established, she continued exclusively with commissioned works along with her own works. She contines to pain original art at her own pleasure in her art studio in Flowery Branch, Georgia.
About Artist: Cheryl Hardin
In creating unexpected combinations of color, shapes, and ideas, Cheryl Hardin's landscapes, seascapes, and still life paintings are captured on canvas in a fluid and impressionistic style. She depicts carmine clouds that devour oceans of azure; red clay rooftops glimmering against the setting sun; light reflecting on a lush foreground of roses. Imagery and emotions spill onto the canvas as she works.
Cheryl has studied with artists Roseta Santiago, Bill Davidson, Ann Templeton, Dee Beard Dean, and Ken Wallin, who have inspired her greatly. Through her association with the Quinlan Visual Arts Center and The Art League, Cheryl is immersed in the local arts. She has formed strong alliances with highly talented area artists, each of whom has contributed to her growth as an artist.
Cheryl began this artistic journey with paintbrush firmly in hand. She has since moved to a more fluid and impressionistic style, now painting predominately with oils, palette knife, and brushes. Once she embraced the palette knife, her paintings immediately became more spontaneous and expressive. No matter what form it takes, Cheryl believes "art" is an emotional experience uniting artist and audience. Her wish is that the viewer of art will experience some of the same emotions that drive the artist to create.

About Arist Rhea Metcalf
Rhea’s artistic career began 1992 in Orlando, Florida where she focused her talents on ceramic art.
She was a Fellowship Student at the Crealde School of Art.
In 1998, she moved to Houston, Texas and studied watercolor painting with Catherine Anderson. During this time, Rhea became interested in nature studies and painted frogs, orchids, grasses, insects and fish. Rhea was a featured artist at the Heights Art Show in 2003.
Rhea moved to Gainesville in 2003 and immediately became involved in the arts. She was commissioned to paint the “Fish of Lake Lanier” for a permanent exhibit at the Northeast Georgia History Museum. She participates in numberous art shows and benefits. She most recently was awarded Best in Show at the Buisson Artists Rendezvous in Dahlonega, Georgia.
“The Fish of Lake Lanier”
The exhibit includes 14 original paintings of the most significant fish species found in Lake Lanier. Rhea worked closely with biologist Reggie Weaver of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to insure that the paintings accurately depict the fish. Rhea also observed live specimens at fishing tournament weigh-ins, aquariums and bait shops. The size of each fish is based on the average for that species as observed by the DNR specifically for Lake Lanier.
Rhea has studied with noted artists such as Catherine Anderson, Dee Beard Dean, and Roseta Santiago. She feels painting with other artists is inspirational and has benefitted greatly through her association with the Northeast Georgia artists-in-Residence and the Quinlan Art Center.
