Pictured is a young girl feeding the birds at the bottom of a clock tower. There is an inscription at the bottom of the tower that reads LA COLOMBIERE. The small clock insert at the top of the tower says it was made in Germany. We are not sure if the clock works. We buy entire estates and pass the savings on to you. Very Nice, Sessions 8 day clock. Solid wood, ebonized case, brass feet, hinged glass face lens, pendulum driven. This clock has some wear and tear but cranks up, runs, and chimes. Stunning, statement making, 8 ft high 18th Century French Case Clock. The solid walnut case is just gorgeous that contains this piece of history. It has some flaws but is very sturdy and stable. The arched pediment does have a crack and a little chip missing. We accidentally broke the original glass in the hinged face cover door. The other oval glass on the large door still has its original glass. The case is put together with dowels, all hand done carving. So beautiful. We have not tried to get this clock to run because I know nothing of getting one to run of this age. That is the reason for the extra low price. The weights and pendulum are with the clock. A couple of newer boards are in the upper case to support the clock itself. The works seem to be in very good shape as well as the clock itself. The brass work and face are just beautiful with very minor wear. The measurements are 11"D x 19"W x 96"H. Truly a fine heirloom to look at and enjoy for more centuries!

Absolutely Incredible Antique French Psyche Clock and Vase Set. This is sculpted of the finest bronze with gilt overlay. In Greek mythology, Psyche was the deification of the human soul. She was portrayed in ancient mosaics as a goddess with butterfly wings (because psyche is also the Greek word for 'butterfly'). The Greek word psyche literally means "spirit, breath, life or animating force".

Signed Matt. Moreau. Born in Dijon in the early 19th century, he studied under Mathurin Moreau. Auguste Moreau worked as a sculptor and specialised in figures, statuettes and groups, mainly in marble. He made his debut at the 1861 Salon in Paris and continued to play an active part in the Salon des Artistes Francais as a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais until 1910.

Psyche was originally the youngest daughter of the king and queen of Sicily, and the most beautiful person on the island. Suitors flocked to ask for her hand. She eventually boasted that she was more beautiful than Aphrodite (Venus) herself, and Aphrodite sent Eros to transfix her with an arrow of desire, to make her fall in love with the nearest person or thing available. But even Eros (Cupid) fell in love with her, and took her to a secret place, eventually marrying her and having her made a goddess by Zeus (Jupiter).
This 3 piece set is huge and magnificent. Breathtaking quality and crafted to last centuries.
