There are a few serious collectors out there who really know their way around a genuine Davenport Desk. These relatively rare desks were made specifically for the captain of a ship. They could be extremely elaborate and ornate or simple and plain. This is American made 1860s era desk is somewhat in between. It features excellent wood quality and grain. Inside this gem, there are cubbie holes and places for letters and pens. All of the drawers have hand cut dovetailing. This is a superb desk in good original condition with some scratches and normal wear.and a more recent felt top that you would probably want to replace. The desk is solid as a rock and has no movement when pushed on. The desk is ready to take home or have delivered today and measures 23 inches wide X 23 inches Deep X 36 inches tall. Absolutely Magnificent this Executive Mahogany Credenza is probably the best buy we have ever had on this great of a quality credenza. I am friends with the owners of Leighton Hall and I get his floor samples. This allows me to sell tremendous quality items for a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere. One glance at this fine piece and you see credibility, trustworthiness, long term, tradition, and beauty. This fine tool is a wonderful investment for a top executive who wants his/her surroundings to be inspiring and exuding confidence. This finely treated hand rubbed finish should last many decades with no cracking or serious wear under normal use. The mahogany surrounding the credenza is a deep grained, perfectly kilned mahogany. The flaming mahogany on the drawers is also banded with straight grained mahogany terminating with raised cock beading on the drawers, and a heavier raised decorative beading on the large panels around the credenza. The corners have 45 degree carved panels topped by a raised patera. The solid oak drawers are dovetailed on the front and back to hold up to years of abuse. The solid brass hardware is designed for beauty, easy use, and to last for years as well. It measures 20D x 72W x 30H. It is wired and computer ready. We also have a matching desk with it for a fraction of what you would pay somewhere else. The similar credenza in Henkel Harris would be $18,000 and up. A similar desk by Council Craftsman is $10,000 and up. We simply cannot be beat for our quality and price.
