This is a grand American Empire Bookcase Secretary/Bureau. This fabulous heirloom is covered in flaming crotched mahogany over solid mahogany construction. We found this treasure in an estate our company liquidated in the Athens Ga. In all it is a wonderful piece. It is a statement maker you can be proud to put in your home. Similar pieces like it are on line for up to $18,000.

Covered in flaming crotched mahogany over solid mahogany construction
Columns on both sides of the bookcase area.
Bookcase is in 3 sections
Crown measures 52"t, 43"w, 11 3/4"d.
Two Gothic glass doors
Three adjustable shelves on both sides.
2 columns on both sides of the bookcase.
Brass keyholes on the doors.
One small pane of glass needs replacing on one of the doors.
Paneled cylinder roll top
Pigeon holes are with original brass hardware pulls
Brass keyhole in center.
Interior has eight pigeonholes and three small drawers
Small door when opened has a small hidden drawer.
Hidden drawer measures 12 3/4"t, 10 1/2"d, 42 3/4"w.
Base has a writing shelf with felt that folds out below the cylinder area.
Base measures 32 1/2" t, 20 1/4'd, 43' w.
There is a single pull out drawer below the writing self.
The drawer has a brass keyhole in center.
The base has two panel doors with brass keyholes on both sides.
The interior of the base has one self.
Over all measurements are 97't, 43 1/2' w, 21 1/2'd.
The bookcase secretary is in good condition for its age.
Some small areas were the mahogany has chipped away.
