	Gustav Becker (1819-1885) was a dedicated and successful German clock maker. In 1850, thoroughly trained in clock making in Germany and in Vienna, he established a small clock making shop in Freiburg, Silesia (not the Black Forest Freiburg.) He struggled to produce clocks with an unskilled labor force until a design award in 1852 gave him the prestige to attract the quality of workers needed for success in this new industry. Description Shipping Info Disclaimer   THIS ATTRACTIVE TALL CLOCK IN ARTS AND CRAFTS STYLE WAS MADE BY THE FAMOUS GUSTAV BECKER COMPANY IN GERMANY IN THE EARLY 1900'S.            THE CLOCK IS OF PLEASING PROPORTIONS.            WITH SUPER HAND CARVINGS AND CARVED FEET.            THE FACE OF THE CLOCK IS OF  BRASS AND IS IN MINT CONDITION.            NOTE THE  ARTS AND CRAFTS WEIGHTS AND PENDULUM.         THE MOVEMENT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY WITH HEAVY BRASS PLATES.            IT IS ONE OF A FEW CLOCKS WITH A STYLE THAT WILL WORK INTO EITHER A MODERN OR CLASSICAL SETTING.        THE CLOCK RUNS FOR EIGHT DAYS AND STRIKES THE HOUR AND HALF HOUR ON FOUR CHIME RODS.
