Absolutely beautiful original painting of Jesus kneeling with the Holy Spirit shining on Him. This iconic piece was recently purchased from a National Historic Landmark Church built in 1854. Whitesville Methodist Episocopal Church. It is located in West Point, Georgia. Edward V (Edwin) Sharp American. mid 19th century. Likely the same person as Edwin Sharp of Georgia who did a drawing of the Macon Volunteers that appeared in the U.S. Military Magazine of 1842 and had his view of Stone Mountain lithographed, Edward Sharpe became a portrait painter in Savannah. Condition: It is beautiful in appearance but there are areas where the paint is peeling away. There is also a very small hole by the signature. Be sure and look at the pics. This is an old painting.
